The Joy of Movement: A Dance and Yoga Fusion Workshop
Livestream Date & Time: Friday June 16th 6:30-8:30pm EST
Exclusively on Facebook
As yogis, many of us have learned discipline in the body that comes from awareness and correct alignment. We may not have explored the freedom that comes from trusting our "knowing" and making what is internal visible in the world. As dancers, we have often learned technique, how to move, but may not have had the opportunity to cultivate what it is to move from the inside, to be truly embodied, present, and responding to what is rising and dissolving. Yoga dance fusion brings these two worlds together.
“What I love most about dancing is the ability to tear through space.”—Rebecca Lazier, dancer and choreographer, Princeton University
In this workshop, joy, beauty, freedom, response, and expression will be our curiosity and our guide: exploring the increased range of motion that comes from movement and release of muscles; curiosity about what it is to inhabit our internal experience as a visible expression; and experiencing as sacred the healing that comes from being joy and beauty.
Who is the workshop for?
This workshop is designed for anyone who is curious about moving from the inside, movement as conversation and process, or is simply ready to explore. While many of the movements are dynamic, all can be modified for your current comfort and ease.
