And many of us have turned to this practice because yoga contains a promise: a promise that deep within, our highest self is already healthy, whole, and complete just as it is—and it always has been.

Molly Birkholm

Molly Birkholm is a recognized leader in bringing yoga and meditation to military communities and treating trauma with yoga and meditation. She is the co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Warriors at Ease, a non-profit that develops yoga and meditation programs in military communities. In addition, Molly is the Director of Yoga Programming and Yoga Therapy for the Sivananda Yoga Retreat, an integral center of the largest yoga organization in the world. She also serves as the Director of Human Trafficking Relief for the Integrative Restoration Institute, a role that allows her to heal and train survivors of the sex trade to become iRest Yoga Nidra Teachers in India and the United States.

Molly is the co-owner of the Yoga Center of Key Biscayne, an affiliated Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center, a place where soldiers, veterans and their families practice free of charge. Molly is a long-term partner with the Department of Defense on PTSD treatment and prevention programs. Through her company Healing River Yoga, she leads worldwide retreats and trainings, including Yoga for Trauma & Anxiety Teacher Trainings; iRest Yoga Nidra Teacher Trainings, Warriors at Ease Teacher Trainings, as well as Empowered Living Retreats and Heart Pilgrim Spiritual Pilgrimages. She has four iRest Yoga Nidra Guided Meditation CDs and two upcoming Yoga DVDs. She lives in South Florida with her 5-year old son, Santiago, and their yellow Labrador, Cleo.
