For more than 40 years, the Himalayan Institute's quiet campus in Honesdale, Pennsylvania has served as a sanctuary for those seeking the wisdom of the Himalayan tradition and as a community of students and teachers living its teachings every day. Accommodations

In the tradition of retreat-style housing, our accommodations are modest without the interruptions of television, telephone, and radio, and include vegetarian meals, hatha yoga classes, and full use of guest facilities.

Standard Room Descriptions / Price Per Night*

Dormitory:
Separate dorms for men and women feature bunk beds and a shared bath — $65

Double:
Double occupancy room (two twin beds) with a shared bath — $75

Single:
Room with twin bed, sink, and a shared bath — $150

Full Size:
Room with full size bed, sink, and a shared bath — $150

(Single occupancy rates listed. $65 per night per additional guest. Limit 2 occupants per room.)

Shared Bath:
Sink in room; semi-private bath — $150

Private Bath:
Premium room with private bath — $180

Suite: 
Full size bed, private bath, sitting area, and sleeper sofa — $210

is the nearest commercial airport, approximately one hour drive by car.

JFK International Airport, NY (JFK)
LaGuardia Airport, NY (LGA)
Philadelphia International Airport, PA (PHL)

New York City and Philadelphia are, respectively, approximately 3 and 4 hours drive by car. (Add an extra hour driving time during rush hour if arriving from New York, Philadelphia, or Boston.) The total air/ground trip may be faster and less expensive to the New York airports than to the Scranton airport.
