Advanced Practice with Power and Grace

August 8, 2014    BY Jim Bennitt

Unfold into power and grace with this sequence that peaks in urdhva kukkutasana (upward cock pose). Hip mobility and strength in the upper body are what you need for this advanced practice. Begin with child’s pose and set an intention for your practice. The sequence combines lotus and crow poses and gracefully leads you through some advanced postures culminating in urdhva kukkutasana. Finally, relax deeply in shavasana. Complete the sequence with a seated ujjayi pranayama practice that includes short internal breath retention.
