Africa: The Total Health Revolution

Introducing a preventative health paradigm to 75,000 people in rural West Africa.

July 25, 2013    BY Matthew Douzart

Our humanitarian team has just arrived to the small West African town of Kumbo, home of the Himalayan Institute Cameroon. The main focus for this trip is to launch the Total Health Revolution, which aims to increase public health awareness by reaching 75,000 people over the course of the next several months.

The Total Health Revolution will provide health education through a series of free classes on topics such as hygiene and sanitation, basic first aid, maternal and pediatric health, stress and emotional wellbeing, and more. The classes will be held in towns and villages throughout Cameroon’s Northwest Region in August, September, and October. Ongoing classes will be incorporated into the schedule of the Himalayan Institute Cameroon, alongside its regular classes in French, computer literacy, carpentry, and general literacy.
