Our goal is to provide you more. Much more.
Today is bittersweet for many of us. As we say goodbye to the beloved magazine that has been the go-to source of wisdom for accessing authentic yoga, we are breathing new life into Yoga International. Using state-of-the-art technology, we can now offer you access to content that cannot be matched by print—our goal is to provide you more. Much more.
Not only will you be able to access thousands of articles from a 22-year archive and enjoy new material by existing columnists, but you will also have the opportunity to participate in online yoga and meditation classes; listen to audio posts; watch video interviews with outstanding experts; attend eCourses on a wide variety of topics; and register to attend live events featuring Yoga International teachers.
Since we are transitioning from a print publication, we have paid close attention to the readability of the site on any device. We have painstakingly selected typefaces, sizes, spacing, and colors to provide an experience that is as 'print-like' as possible. We have also focused on developing a Print function that enables every article to appear as it would on the printed page rather than in the usual web-style print format. Reading on the new site is unbelievably easy, and several beta testers were instantly converted to reading on electronic devices.
First and foremost, expect more content, more frequently. In addition to regular new video and audio posts, we will continue to offer fresh material from many of our existing columnists—we’re especially excited that Pandit Rajmani Tigunait will continue his Yoga Sutras translation and commentary column! We also have new features and content channels planned for the near future.
You can also expect the site to improve significantly in the coming months as we tweak the details and polish any rough edges. These are probably less obvious to you than they are to us, but we are aware of them, and will continue to fine-tune your experience as the site's end-user.
We hope you enjoy the new site. Please feel free to leave feedback beneath this post, on our Facebook page or on Twitter. Or just simply send us an email with your thoughts. We are sincerely looking forward to providing the content you want combined with the best possible user experience you could wish for. Hoping to see you on the site as well as in person at one of our upcoming live events!
