Eka pada koundinyasana ll (“flying splits”) can be a challenging arm balance; however, props can make a real difference in your experience and enjoyment of it.
In this alignment-based class, you’ll do six poses to prepare for a supported eka pada koundinyasana II variation: a block- and bolster-supported supta padangusthasana ll (reclined hand to big toe pose), a block-supported triangle, a wall- and block-supported chaturanga, half lizard at the wall, a block-supported version of half lizard at the wall that mirrors the shape of eka pada koundinyasana ll, and a wall- and chair-supported plank where you’ll do a few push-ups and tricep taps. You’ll finish with eka pada koundinyasana ll using the wall and the chair.
