Use of Sound in Yoga Practice

Class Description

Add the power of sound to your asana, pranayama, and meditation practice. Using sound, such as a mantra, with asana has several benefits, including increasing the length of the breath and augmenting the effects of the pose. Kathy explains the three aspects of sound—energetic, cognitive, and symbolic—and leads you through an asana and pranayama practice coordinating the mantra Om so’ham hamsaha with the four parts of the breath. The practice ends with a short meditation and chanting of the mantra.
