Learn How to Use Yoga Therapy Principles to Transform Your Relationship With Anxiety

Yoga Therapy for Anxiety was created to equip you with practical tools for working with anxiety. This in-depth course is designed for those who seek to understand what lies behind anxiety in order to transform their relationship to it, and ultimately, transcend its impact.

While yoga is not a substitute for medical care, we can use it as a complementary resource to help manage some of the symptoms of anxiety and to enhance our well-being. During this course, you’ll learn Yoga Therapy techniques that can help you find relief in stressful and anxious situations and increase your overall vitality and self-confidence.

This course is useful for:

  • Anyone who regularly experiences anxiety, including yoga beginners.
  • Anyone who is close to someone who lives with anxiety.
  • Yoga teachers and yoga therapists who want to learn to manage their own anxiety symptoms and gain insight and tools that can be shared with their students.

It’s also for anyone who wants to learn the yogic perspective on the inner dimensions of thought, mood, and behavior; how anxiety manifests in each of these dimensions; and specific tools for studying these levels of the mind in order to transform from svābhava, our self-concept, toward svarūpa, our highest potential.

This course includes:

  • Two full-length yoga practices for anxiety: one for addressing the physical response and the other for addressing the mind’s response during anxious times.
  • Yoga Therapy principles for adapting and applying āsana, prāṇāyāma (breathwork), chanting, mantra, and meditation to create an integrated practice for working with anxiety.
  • Background on the autonomic nervous system and the physiology behind the stress response.
  • Information about the science behind meditation, including its benefits and how it affects our physiology overall.
  • An exploration of the Yoga Therapy paradigm of bṛṁhaṇa, laṅghana, and samāna and how to utilize it to balance the nervous system.
