The practice of ParaYoga Nidra allows you to experience the depth of who you are and the vastness of possibilities that are innately yours. All it takes is deep relaxation to access them.
In the course, you’ll experience several different yoga nidra practices. You’ll also learn key yogic teachings about sleep and the role that it plays in our lives so that you can better understand the intent behind the practices. This includes an exploration of the four states of consciousness: dreaming, sleeping, waking, and the stage beyond that is equivalent to the highest stages of meditation or yoga nidra.
As you dive in, you'll gain an understanding of the five aims of ParaYoga Nidra (Enlightened Sleep®): The first aim is healing for the mind and body; the second is related to cognition, with a primary focus on honing your intellect; third is transformation at the level of the mind—the rational mind and even beyond—to create lasting impact; fourth is sankalpa, which means “resolution”; and fifth is spiritual awakening—the ultimate goal of this practice.
Learning how to prepare the body and mind for yoga nidra through gentle asana, pranayama, and joints and glands exercises.
Doing eight ParaYoga Nidra practices that will help you increase creativity, improve memory, feel restored, and bring a sense of equanimity into your life.
Learning about topics that support the practice of Enlightened Sleep, including what both modern science and the traditional yogic scriptures tell us about sleep and the intersection of these two methodologies.
Using the notebook included with this course to do journaling assignments and contemplative exercises and to write your sankalpa.
