Learn how yoga and other holistic practices can benefit trauma survivors and help develop resiliency.

This comprehensive program is especially designed for yoga teachers and those currently serving or interested in serving populations dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and trauma.

It includes lectures, yoga classes, and interactive practicums on topics like adapting yoga practice and teaching for trauma, mindfulness and meditation for addressing chronic pain, yoga and meditation for traumatic brain injury, addressing stress and burnout in caregivers, iRest Yoga Nidra, and much more.

A Practice-Based Approach

You will learn the latest in scientific research and support for alternative modalities in healing; and specific practical techniques of yoga, pranayama, and meditation, and an understanding of why and how they work in relation to trauma and the nervous system. Each individual workshop is taught by carefully selected experts and teachers: Molly Birkholm, Dr. Jerry Wesch, Rama Jyoti Vernon, Adam and Kyla Pearce (LoveYourBrain Yoga), and Dr. Pauline Lucas.

In this 13 hour digital conference, you will get:

  • Tools for adapting yoga practice and teaching for trauma.
  • Information about current research evidence for the efficacy of trauma-sensitive yoga and meditation practices.
  • A comprehensive overview of complex trauma, PTSD, and TBI.
  • Interactive practicums, and sample yoga, meditation, and relaxation practices.
  • Information about working with specific populations to help guide you to a deeper understanding of how to apply these healing modalities to the community you intend to serve.
  • A Q&A panel discussion with the presenters.

Continuing Education Credits

Yoga Alliance requires all yoga teachers to accumulate at least 30 hours of continuing education every three years. They recently changed their continuing education requirements to allow 20 hours of online yoga studies to count towards this requirement.

Our Traumatic Stress Conference will fulfill 13 of these online study hours. Sign up now and you will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course. This is a great way to expand your teaching and develop your practice while completing your Yoga Alliance CE requirement.
