Samantha Schaefer recently received her MFA in Poetry as a Follett Fellow at Columbia College Chicago. She has worked as co-editor of Black Tongue Review, has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and has attended as Writer in Residence at Brushcreek Foundation for the Arts. After completion of her 200-hour teacher training with Karina Ayn Mirsky, she has since had the honor of studying with amazing teachers, in a wide variety of styles. Particularly resonant, in addition to her initial exposure to ParaYoga style, were her studies in Anusara yoga in Rome, Italy, and Ashtanga yoga in Chicago, IL. Currently, she finds herself teaching to opposite ends of the age-spectrum—from instructing chair-yoga in assisted-living communities, to working with six-year-olds at local elementary schools.
