Narween Otto is a mix of Vietnamese and Australian and calls NYC home. She has been a student of Yoga since 1995 and started teaching in Los Angeles in 2002 after receiving her certification in Anusara style yoga. In 2004 she traveled to India to live in the ashram of her Guru, Swami Chidvilasananda, teaching Hatha Yoga as her seva (selfless service) while studying meditation, yoga scripture and Ayurveda. Wanting to learn more about movement and to heal her own chronic low back issues Narween began to explore Pilates, first within the rigorous apprenticeship of Joseph Pilates’ protégé, Romana Kryzanoswka and later at Re:Ab with Brooke Siler. Narween teaches both yoga and pilates with a firm belief that wellness is achieved through keeping an open mind and cross training the body, mind and spirit. She has been part time faculty at the California State University LA, and has taught yoga and pilates at some of the best studios & gyms on both the East & West coasts, including: Vira Yoga (NY), Kula Yoga (NY), City Yoga (LA), Still (LA), The Standard Spa (Miami) and Equinox (NY). She currently maintains a schedule of classes at select Equinox locations and enjoys working with her private clients.
