Kendra found yoga in 2006 as a senior in high school for PE credit. She was immediately drawn to how wonderful yoga made her feel, both on and off the mat. While her first practice was the Ashtanga Primary Series, she quickly began exploring local studios in different traditions. She found her yoga home at Yoga Oasis, where in 2011 she completed her teacher training from “teacher’s teachers” Darren Rhodes and Christina Sell. Shortly after training, Kendra began volunteering with the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona teaching yoga to girls 6-16. Watching how much fun kids could have practicing yoga, and having them say how much they loved the practice, sparked her love of teaching yoga to kids.
Kendra has over 1000 hours of experience teaching in the classroom with both kids and adults. Her classes are difficult, but do-able, and she brings precision and body awareness to the practice. Most importantly, in all of her classes, she strives to have fun! Kendra currently lives and teaches in Portland, OR, and is still volunteering for the Girl Scouts in Oregon and Southern Washington.
