Yoga: One of 7 Indian Philosophies

Share:

Where does yoga fit among the 7 schools of Indian philosophy? Though it’s most closely associated with Samkhya philosophy, Ishan explains why yoga, the philosophy of mind, is by far the most practical and experiential of all the schools and transcends all the others. Through its many paths—raja, jnana, hatha, etc.—yoga leads us to experience the essence of the world inside and outside us. Ishan briefly describes the other schools of Indian philosophy, including Vedanta (nondualism), Mimamsa (the basis of tantra), and Buddhism, and says that by studying them, you can amplify your understanding of yoga.
