Favorite Apple Sauce Recipe

Apple Sauce

Directions:

Preparation time: 30–60 minutes. Makes 3 cups. Good for all seasons. Sattvic; calms pitta and kapha;
in excess, can increase vata. Moderate use is fine for all doshas.

1. Wash, slice and core:

8–10 apples, organic preferred

2. Put them in a large saucepan with:

1 1⁄2 cups fresh apple juice
1⁄2 tsp. cinnamon
1⁄4 tsp. ground nutmeg

3. Simmer until the apples are soft and dissolving into the juice.

If you like a smooth applesauce, you can put it through a blender or food processor at this point. Serve warm (best for vata) or cool
