Hurdles to Samadhi
What are the hurdles to samadhi and how can we overcome them? The Yoga Sutra mentions nine hurdles, which are accompanied by five more, for a total of 14. Pandit Tigunait describes these hurdles and explains that they are ultimately connected to five very deeply rooted afflictions that dull the mind and weaken the body, making us incapable of focusing the mind inward and attaining samadhi. He also explains what’s needed to gain freedom from these hurdles.
