Meditation Journal: A Tool for Self-Study

A meditation journal can reveal a lot about our life. It does more than just record the depth of our meditation. Looking back through our journal gives us clues as to where we’re stuck—the issues we repeatedly stumble over in our life that we need to face and address for our personal growth. Mary Gail explains that meditation and mantra give us the strength and clarity to do this. Our meditation journal reminds us of our goals, our personal goodness, and how we can shape our life to bring fulfillment.

Mary Gail Sovik has studied yoga and meditation since 1973 under the guidance of Swami Rama and Pandit Rajmani Tigunait, and holds a master’s degree from the University of Notre Dame in educational counseling. She served as the resident administrator in the Minneapolis and Buffalo Himalayan Institute centers for many years, teaching yoga and meditation and leading women’s spirituality groups.
