Active Side-Bending and Twisting Practice

This series of side-bending and twisting postures will keep you on the edge of your mat! Join Amber for an hour-long intermediate-level vinyasa practice that focuses on opening the side body and accessing harder-to-reach areas of the back body. You'll work through some unique variations of classic poses such as salambha bhujangasana (sphinx pose), adho mukha svanasana (downward facing dog pose), ardha chandrasana (half moon pose), and setu bandha sarvangasana (bridge pose) that will release and strengthen some of the smaller, deeper muscles in the back, torso, and hip muscles. These might be novel sensations—enjoy!
