Ardha Chandrasana: Roll, Slide, and Play

Explore fun ways to actively approach ardha chandrasana (half moon pose) with this adventurous practice.

You’ll begin with a warm-up sequence for your feet, lower legs, and hips. After that, you’ll practice rolling into a cobra variation in different ways in order to prepare for a kneeling half moon variation, dynamic movement in parighasana(gate pose), and a “hovering ardha chandrasana,” where you’ll balance on one knee.

You’ll also practice blanket-sliding into the pose as well as transitioning from tree pose into half moon. Finally, Carrie offers another transitional series that includes hopping from down dog into ardha chandrasana and other fun hopping transitions.

Relax at the end with sweet side-body stretches in down dog and a guided savasana.

Props: Blocks, blanket
