Backbends: The Jewels of Asana

This mindful backbending class begins with Savitri’s Heartfull Meditation. Then, you’ll move into a few rounds of surya namaskar, followed by setu bandha sarvangasana (bridge pose), bhujangasana (cobra pose), and a shoulder-opening sequence that will help you prepare for bigger backbends. After that, you’ll do urdhva dhanurasana (upward bow pose), supine leg stretches, a block-supported backbend to open up your upper back, and more.
