The spirit medicine of the scorpion is that of protection, right timing, skill in action, metamorphosis, transmutation, and patience. You'll call on these qualities throughout this class as you work toward scorpion pose.
Class begins with a practice of the maha mrityunjaya mantra (a mantra of victory and protection) and abhaya hridaya mudra (fearless heart mudra).
The sequence, in which you'll use a chair and a wall, focuses on building a skillful pincha mayurasana (forearm balance) and urdhva dhanurasana (upward bow pose) before moving into the peak pose.
