This kirya (cleansing practice) is for balancing the negative mind, which is the second of the ten light bodies of kundalini yoga. The negative mind, when seen in a positive light, is a protective mind that scans our environment to keep us safe.
Class begins with a kundalini sun salutation. After that, you'll begin the kriya, which includes sufi grinds, an energizing practice called "crow squat walk," a lotus/cobra hybrid, eye exercises to promote clear sight, whole-body breath of fire practices (which go beyond doing this pranayama from seated), and more.
You'll wrap up in a seated pose, hands to heart.
Be sure to tune in with the Adi Mantra before you begin: Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo.
