Shoulderstand Sadhana

Cultivate a beautiful relationship with the queen of asana: shoulderstand, aka salamba sarvangasana.

As you work toward this powerful asana, you'll release your hamstrings, do upper-body-opening practices (such as shoulder flossing and shimmies), strengthen your upper body, lengthen and extend your spine, and activate your midline (the core of the body).

The goddess that inspires this sequence is Lakshmi—a beloved of Vishnu and a sustaining and nourishing presence for all beings.
