Challenge Overview

Seeking 30 to 40 minute practices that will replenish your energy and uplift your heart? Join Sierra Hollister for this three-part kundalini program where you’ll be invited to awaken your inner fire through a series of heating summertime flows.

The first class focuses on the marma (energetic) point hrudaya (protector of the heart) and includes sufi grinds, rising bridges, breath of fire, and more.

The second class opens with feel-good shoulder and neck circles, then moves on to dynamic practices that ignite solar power (sun salutations and sun energy kriyas such as windmills, leg lifts, frog pose).

Finally, the third short practice is all about harmonizing the heart and soul through pranayama practices and dynamic heart-centered movements.

While this program was designed with the hotter months in mind, you can explore these classes anytime, and in any order. Get ready to stoke your inner fire and fill your heart with that summertime glow.

Section 1
  • Ready for your first practice of the series? This energizing kundalini sequence focuses on the marma (energetic) point hrudaya (protector of the heart). You’ll practice numerous kriyas including sufi grinds, rising bridges, tiger pose, breath of fire, and more. You’ll then finish up with a heartfelt chant as you allow your energy to settle. Give your heart a little extra love with this practice.
  • For your second practice, you’ll move through a dynamic sequence that embodies qualities of the sun (power, energy, heat). You’ll begin with shoulder and neck circles followed by cat-cow. After that comes sun salutations and sun energy kriyas such as windmills, leg lifts, frog pose, and more. You’ll then conclude with two meditations: one dedicated to the sun, and the other to the heart.
  • The final practice of this program is all about harmonizing the heart and soul. You’ll begin with a brief warm-up in cat-cow. After that comes a three-part pranayama in easy pose and breath of fire practices in stretch pose, back platform pose (i.e., reverse tabletop), and more. Then you’ll do dynamic kriya practices for the heart like rising crows, cat-cow, and wide-knee rock. Finally, you’ll conclude with two meditations: one that’s heart-centered, and another that integrates venus mudra and the mantras om and so ham. Notice how you feel in your mind and heart after this practice.
