Rasa Yoga: Magic of Mudra
Mudra means “seal,” “mark,” or “gesture.” In the alchemy of yoga, it’s considered an essential practice to assist healthy circuitry in both the physical and subtle bodies. In this program, you’ll explore 13 hasta mudras (hand mudras). They each have their own “medicine and magic,” and Sianna will show you how to weave them into your practice and your everyday life. You’ll also explore the ways in which mudra is related to the five great elements (maha bhutas) and the three doshas of ayurveda.
The first mudra taught in this course is commonly referred to as anjali mudra, however the correct name is namaste mudra. As scholars continue to study written and verbal transmissions of yoga, our knowledge continues to expand. There is a subtle but profound difference between namaste and anjali mudras. Anjali mudra is when we hold something sacred in between the palms as an offering to a diety.
