Course Overview

Sianna created this vibrant, all-levels program out of a love for the goddesses of yoga, and through it, you’ll go on a mythical journey with four of them: Saraswati, Durga, Lakshmi, and Bhuvaneshwari. As you journey, you’ll explore a vision (or intention) you wish to manifest and learn how evoking the qualities of these goddesses can give you the momentum you need to bring your vision to life.

This program comprises four 20-minute classes, each dedicated to one of the goddesses. These practices begin with an attunement to the goddess (learning her associated mantra and mudra, and hearing some of her mythic story), then moves on to an asana sequence where you’ll flow in ritual and rhythm with your breath.

Do all of these practices in one day, or perhaps try one a day, and awaken to the nurturing and transformative power of the goddess as you sculpt your vision and bring it into fruition.

Section 1
  • Welcome to this dynamic program where you’ll go on a mythical journey with four goddesses: Saraswati, Durga, Lakshmi, and Bhuvaneshwari. In this introductory module, Sianna tells you more of what’s to come, more about each of these goddesses, and how you’ll benefit from evoking their attributes in practice.
  • In this shakti mandala flow, you’ll evoke the attributes of goddess Saraswati—“she who is as bright as moonlight”—as you develop a clear vision of something you wish to manifest. The practice opens with mudra, mythic storytelling, and chanting. After that comes a seated flow, “shakti waves” in down dog, standing crescents, a warrior II to side angle flow that moves toward triangle and half moon with a chapasana option, and more. You’ll then come to a simple seat for a guided practice where you’ll refine and feel the vision you want to manifest through your practice.
  • Props: none You’ve organized your vision; now, in this Durga-inspired practice (Durga is the goddess of courage, protection, and inner strength), you’ll rise with a sense of empowerment to bring forth what it takes to manifest this vision. The practice begins with mudra, mythic storytelling, and chanting. After that comes breath of fire, sun salutes, jump switches into crescent lunges with a “thunder clap,” locust pose, goddess pose flows with lion’s breath, optional arm balances (eka hasta bhujasana and astavakrasana), and more. You’ll close with a simple seated pose to anchor your intention in...
  • Props: none Lakshmi is the maha shakti of love, abundance, and healing energies. Now that you’ve developed your vision and the courage to manifest that vision, it’s time to evoke the qualities of this compassionate goddess and welcome transformation from within. The practice begins with mudra, mythic storytelling, and chanting. After that comes warm-ups for your spine and hips and a “pranic wash” from seated. Then comes thread the needle, a revolved gate pose variation, balance-boosting transitions in standing poses, side plank into wild thing, transitions from down dog into wheel pose, and more....
  • Props: none Bhuvaneshwari is the goddess of the earth and mistress of the five elements. It’s time to invoke this goddess to help you ground your vision and truly bring it into reality. The practice begins with mudra, chanting, and pranayama. After that comes a low-to-the-earth practice that includes pigeon pose, child’s pose variations, a “low lunge prayer,” an ardha hanuman variation, full splits (optional), half malasana with crescents, and more. You’ll then come to a seat for a practice that calls forth all of the goddesses, as well as your vision, one last time. As you sit, feel the ground...
