When Is a Student Ready to Begin Pranayama Practice?

Class Description

A student should have 3 things in place before moving from breath training to a pranayama practice: diaphragmatic breathing, an understanding of how the breath relaxes the nervous system, and an understanding of how the breath enhances concentration. Developing this understanding and awareness of one’s own natural breath can take a good deal of time—perhaps 6 months.
