Evolution of Practice. Forty Years in the Making

“How has my asana practice changed? On the surface, not much has changed—I still do down-dog, sun salutations, trikonasana. But now I use the physical practice to study myself.” That is how Shari begins this interview sharing her decades-long journey with yoga. Shari reflects on using her asana practice to explore “in this body, now” to access the freedom, the joy and the grace that the scriptures describe.

Teaching yoga for more than 38 years, Shari Friedrichsen, a key facilitator of the Himalayan Institute teacher certification program and a member of the 500-hour teacher training faculty at 8 Limbs Yoga in Seattle, Washington, teaches classes, seminars and trainings worldwide.
