Samana vayu is the subdivision of prana (life-force energy) that is responsible for digestion, assimilation, and absorption of both food and life experiences. It is seated at the navel center and allows all the other vayus to be nourished. In this practice that includes twists and contractions, use the breath to help you release stagnation in the tissues around the abdomen and give space to samana vayu.
