Course Overview

Often the suffering we face in our lives begins in our minds. In Basics of Breathing, yoga teacher and wellness consultant for Hoag Hospital Anusha Wijeyakumar offers you five-minute breath-focused meditations that have helped her patients feel happier and less reactive in their daily lives. Because these meditations are so short, they're easier to fit into your life than long ones where you might have to carve out a specific time and place for practice.

The program includes an introduction and five meditations. In the intro you’ll learn more about the work Anusha does and its effectiveness—how it can help you improve your outlook and your life. In the practices, she helps you get settled and then guides you, step by step, through grounding breathing practices and affirmations designed to help you feel more at ease in the moment.

The meditations are: Mindfulness Breathwork, Balancing Breathwork, Reset Breathwork, Calming Breathwork, and Tension-Releasing Breathwork.

Life can be challenging for all of us, especially during a pandemic when many people are prone to feeling more isolated and stressed. Take a few minutes to give yourself some space and peace with this accessible program.
