  • This workshop includes a discussion on the multidimensionality of depression and how yoga and yoga therapy tools can be used to help manage symptoms. It's followed by a complete, breath-centric asana class led by Gary.
  • A Yoga Therapy Sequence for Depression

Section 3
  • This workshop includes a discussion on understanding and managing the stress response, followed by a stress-management practice.
Section 4
  • Apply what you've learned thus far with this guided sequence of breath-centric āsana that mindfully links breath with movement. This practice features a progressive lengthening and deepening of inhalations and exhalations, breath retention, and breath suspension.

  • Explore the Viniyoga principles of breath-centric asana in a class that focuses on structural pose adaptations and combines repetition and stay (active holding). Move through dynamic postures with progressively longer breath counts as the sequence unfolds. This practice, designed to be enjoyed in the morning, will leave you feeling energized and ready to start your day. Class concludes with a guided relaxation and then savasana.
  • In this special class, you will be introduced to the Viniyoga practice of using breath-centric asana as preparation for pranayama (breathwork). This relaxing, slow-flowing practice is perfect to do in the evening. You'll synchronize your breath with each movement and shift into a quiet inner space. You'll also learn two different variations of ujjayi pranayama, one at the beginning of class and one at the end, which focus on slowing down and watching your breath. Let this gentle practice bring you into your body through your breath.
  • Experience a truly integrated Viniyoga practice that includes breath-centric asana It’s great to do any time of day, and it can be done every day. In fact, practicing it over and over can give you a deeper understanding of why you practice and help you to refine your practice so that it can be more effective in helping you achieve what you would like to achieve in life. This class is centered around Yoga Sutra 2.1, which you’ll chant as you move through three pose variations to the pace of your breath.
