In this workshop, we'll learn, flow through, then reverse two vinyasa sequences—one that centers around familiar standing poses and transitions and one that's a little more “outside the box.”
The repetition will build a sense of mastery and success, and reversing the sequences serves as an “autopilot deterrent,” helping you to stay focused and present with your practice. You'll also learn tips and tricks for creating a “flip-it-and-reverse-it” style sequence of your own, which are useful for teachers and home practitioners alike.
Kat Heagberg is the editor of Yoga International and has been teaching yoga since 2005. She loves to write about ways to make challenging poses more accessible, the power of language in yoga culture, and to offer encouragement and advice to new yoga teachers. Though she initially trained in alignment-based styles of yoga (which continue to inform her practice and teaching), Kat likes teaching vinyasa flow best of all.
