In this workshop, we'll learn, flow through, then reverse two vinyasa sequences—one that centers around familiar standing poses and transitions and one that's a little more "outside the box."

The repetition will build a sense of mastery and success, and reversing the sequences serves as an "autopilot deterrent," helping you to stay focused and present with your practice. You'll also learn tips and tricks for creating a "flip-it-and-reverse-it" style sequence of your own, which are useful for teachers and home practitioners alike.

Section 1
  • Welcome to Flip It and Reverse It, a practice-based workshop where you'll learn, flow through, and then reverse two vinyasa sequences. In this module, Kat shares more about what's to come, including how this type of practice can benefit you (both physically and mentally), beyond the fact that it's a lot of fun!
  • This first sequence focuses on common yet challenging standing poses and transitions. You'll flow through it once slowly, then a few more times, and each time you'll move faster. Then you'll do it all again, backwards!
  • Before we move into our next sequence, Kat offers a couple of handy tips for creating your very own flip-it-and-reverse-it sequence.
  • You've done a lot, and probably worked up a sweat! Now it's time for a cool-down sequence. Once you're done, reflect on what you experienced and how you'll integrate it into your practice going forward. We hope you enjoyed this creative workshop and that it inspires you to create your very own flip-it-and-reverse-it flow. You can do it!
  • This last, and second, flow features hip openers and more "outside the box" transitions. Just as before, you'll practice the sequence, then you'll do it a few more times and build your speed as you go. And, of course, you'll reverse it!
