Section 1
  • p>Learn how a few props can turn janu sirsasana into a soothing, supportive, restorative yoga pose in this all-levels tutorial. You'll want blankets (or a cushion), two blocks (or books), a bolster (or rolled blankets), and a chair (optional). \n\nStay in this asana anywhere from one to five minutes—whatever feels most comfortable for you. Along the way, Anamargret will guide you through modifications that will help you find your ultimate comfort level.
Section 2
  • This seven-minute, all-levels practice will introduce you to a soothing, restorative backbend you just might want to practice every day. Set up, lie back, and relax into a freeing sense of openness through your chest, shoulders, and ribs as you enjoy breathing fuller, richer breaths. For this class you'll need: a bolster (or a cushion/a couple of rolled blankets), 4 blankets (or towels), and an eye pillow (or scarf).
Section 3
  • Restorative upavistha konasana (wide-legged forward fold) can be a big ask for tight hamstrings. Props come in handy! In this all-levels, six-minute class, Anamargret will provide two restorative versions of this asana (one for tight hamstrings, another for feeling-less-tight-today hamstrings). She'll also include a breath technique that will help you soften and surrender into this pose. For this class you'll need: blankets (or cushions), bolster (or rolled blankets), two blocks (or books), and a chair (optional)
Section 4
  • We're often told "If you need to rest, drop into child's pose" during asana classes, but how often do any of us really practice balasana in a restorative way? In this six-minute practice, Anamargret will invite you to explore this asana as a focal point of practice. If your knees are happy, stay five-minutes or longer—rest up, and enjoy! For this class you'll need: several blankets (or towels, or cushions), a bolster, and a block
Section 5
  • Join Anamargret for this seven-minute practice and treat yourself to a deliciously soothing "deluxe twist." You'll need several thick towels or blankets, two blocks (or thick books), and a bolster (or two rolled blankets fashioned into a bolster).
Section 6
  • Let's practice legs on a chair pose! This all-levels restorative asana is a great way to relax your lower back, and it's an excellent go-to if you just want to relax in general but only have a few minutes. You'll need a few blankets—pillows can also work—and a sandbag or ricebag are optional. Stay in this asana anywhere from five minutes (minimum) to fifteen (maximum).
Section 7
  • Let's practice savasana on our side! Join Anamargret for this decadent restorative version of the classic relaxation pose. This seven-minute class will leave you feeling restored and renewed so that you can tackle the day ahead! It would also make a great end-of-day wind-down pose. Stay anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes.
